portraits beyond the ordinary
Hey all…
If you’ve been following my posts, I’ve been trying to put new images up every day or two. It’s been awhile, so thanks for your patience… we’ve been really busy. In my spare time, I like to eat and sleep. Haha…
Anywayzzzz, here are some of the images from Tracey’s session. Tracey goes to St. Francis. Isn’t her dress to-die-for??
We have more images to post soon… from Liz from Lake Park’s session, and also Josh & Stephanie from BHS. Check back soon!
Until then,
stay happy.
Kathy

Hey there…
Mark & I are in Decatur Illinois right now at the APPI Conference – the State Photographer’s convention. It’s fun to catch up with old friends and meet new ones as well.
We’re getting some incredible new ideas and can’t wait to share them with our friends and clients during your sessions!
Take care… we’ll post some images soon.

If it’s important to our seniors, it’s important to us. This week, we had the pleasure of photographing two more ‘09 seniors. Both are very active and involved with friends and school. Katie from West Chicago is the goalie for her hockey team. Mark went out to photograph her in action a few nights ago and she had her own cheering section! We’re happy to say that Katie did not allow even one goal to be scored against the the Wheaton West Wilds! Go Katie!
We also photographed Lauren from South Elgin HS. It was fun to catch up with Lauren, since we created her family’s portrait just over a year ago. She’s a cheerleader for the SEHS Storm. Her cheerleading pictures look awesome, but we’re saving those for her to see first.
Meanwhile… here is a sneak preview from these two fun sessions.
And here’s Lauren…
Happy Golden Birthday, Lauren!!! Hope you had a “wicked” time this weekend downtown at the musical!
See ya soon!

Congratulations to Mark on beating out hundreds of other photographers in the entire state of Illinois for the Best Senior Folio!
We attended the recent APPI awards banquet downstate, and Mark came away winning not only the Best Senior Folio award, but also Best Children’s Folio, too.
His designs have a clean, sophisticated look to them, and feature between 6 – 10 images from your session. Bartlett High School Senior Taylor McCulloch was featured in the winning folio. Here is an image from said folio.
These custom-designed folios are part of our senior portrait offerings, so be sure to ask about them when you schedule your senior session. We have several samples in our gallery at the studio to show you, including the award-winner!
Must run. I’m headed out now to listen to a very special 6-year old read the book she wrote (and illustrated!) to her first grade class.
Have a scrumpcious day!
Kathy
What a great afternoon! It’s finally starting to feel like spring, and we got to be outside in the great outdoors a lot today. We hung out with Kristin, a really sweet and fun girl from St. Charles East. She said one of the things she likes most about our senior portrait work is that all of our images are in unique and different locations. With that in mind, we scouted out a few new kitschy spots downtown.
Here are a couple of images taken during today’s session with her. Check out that thousand-watt smile!

What a busy week. We photographed several senior models (class of ‘09), plus a maternity portrait (OmG, those images are stunning! I’ll post a few in a future post, along with new friends Tim & Meghan, whom we loved photographing a few weeks ago.) We also created children’s portraits this week, as well as photographed about half of the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. I’m on the board, so of course I wanted a nice image of myself on the chamber’s soon-to-be newly designed website, and offered to do the work pro bono.
Anywayzzzz, because we’re gearing up for senior season, I thought I’d post only the senior models’ images in today’s blog. They haven’t come in for their video slideshow yet, so this is a sneak peak!
The picture above is Ellen, this week’s first model shoot. This image makes me think of an H&M ad.
We also went to Dance Xplosion, a hot new dance studio in Bloomingdale. Talia, the owner, was nice enough to let us do our thaaang with Ellen, who is a terrific dancer, and was fun to hang with.
Here is another image from Ellen’s session. BTW, her prom dress pictures are beyond beautiful!
Then, we drove out to South Elgin H.S. to photograph Kelly by the school’s infamous rocks. She played her guitar for us, too. It was colder than it looks, despite the warmth exuded by the lens flare at sunset. I love that look.

Thanks for turning me onto my new favorite band, too, Kelly… LOVE Guster! (Not to worry, Bono… you know U2 is still my all-time fav!) Kelly brought her cat to the session, too, which was different. We have kittens ourselves so it was cute to see her interact with her li’l feline.
Yesterday, we photographed Rachel, from South Elgin HS… Rachel is the captain of both the soccer and swim teams at her school. She brought the cutest clothes and was a natural in front of the camera. We had a lot of fun with her and her mom, Sue, during her session. We even photographed her with her little sister Maddie and their adorable little dog, Misha. (I hope I spelled that right.)
FYI, we’re booking sessions into May now, so if you want a Clique Photography original (family, child, senior portrait (yes, we’re still photographing the class of ‘08) etc.) give us a call at the studio (630) 837-8887 to reserve your session or be put on our waiting list.
That’s all for now… Hope you enjoy your day. Show someone a little love and kindness… I’m off to do that right now.
Ciao for now!
Kathy
I love birthdays. I mean, I REALLY love them! Especially when they are mine! Hee hee… Today is my birthday! A photographer friend of mine says he always celebrates March 4th because it’s the only day that is a command. “March forth!” A shout out to Sean and his wife Wen… Happy March Fourth day!
Anywayzzzz, enough about me and my birthday… Here are some images of our second senior model from the class of ‘09.
Candice was the first person to apply to be a model, and has been so enthusiastic about having her portraits created by us, (see her jump for joy!?) that I’m sure she’ll do well letting everyone know what a unique experience her session was.
We had our first Model Session yesterday with Lauren from Bartlett High School! Here’s an sneak peak from her session.
We created some really cool imagery with her, and even went outside in the snow! What a trooper she was, as I froze my bum off!
Ask Lauren about her session. I’m sure she’ll tell you all how she showed us some special moves in her dance outfit!
And a big shout out to our friends at Morgan Christopher Salon & Spa. Morgan Christopher is the bomb of salons! They’re doing the hair & make-up for all our model sessions… They are absolutely awesome and will be doing the hair & make up for all of our models at the fashion show as well!
Speaking of which, Lauren and all of our models will be selling tickets to the show in the coming weeks… mark your calendar – 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 1 at St. Andrews Golf Course. Be there for an fabulous time and discover what this year’s senior special for 2009 grads will be!
More info about the fashion show in another post. Just trust me when I say you absolutely won’t want to miss out on it. It promises to be bigger and better than last year’s event, and our special is something you definitely won’t want to miss!
See ya soon…
